Host and actress Alex Gonzaga was just one of the many celebrities who were invited to attend the private dinner organized by President Rodrigo Duterte and wife Honeylet Avanceña held at Malacañang Palace last May 7.
On Twitter, Alex clarified her presence at the event after a netizen asked her to make a vlog, explaining her reasons for supporting the president.

The netizen wrote: “hi. @Mscathygonzaga, maybe you could do a vlog explaining your reason/s for supporting pres. duterte.

Alex responded to the netizen and clarified: “Hello. We were personally and formally invited by the Malacañang for a ‘private dinner’ because of our friend, Sir Robin Padilla. We didn’t know who were going and we really didn’t know what it was about. Our network allowed us to go despite having taping that day. Thank you :)”
As of writing, Alex’s post has already been deleted on Twitter.
Alex’s sister Toni Gonzaga was also present at the event.
