President Rodrigo Duterte apologized to God after calling Him “stupid” in one of his public speeches.
During his meeting with evangelist and Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide (JILCW) Founder Bro. Eddie Villanueva in Malacañang on Tuesday, July 10, Duterte apologized over his previous remark which sparked backlash from the Catholic Church and other religious groups.

In a video shared by Presidential Communications on Facebook, the president said: “If it’s the same God, I’m sorry, that’s how it is.”
“Sorry, God. I said sorry God. If God is taken in a generic term by everybody listening then that’s well and good.”
However, the president insisted that his critics should “never use the name of God to attack government.”
He also added that he only apologizes to his God who will forgive him if he wronged Him, saying He “created me to be good and not bad.”
