Actor Jake Cuenca apologized for his tweet regarding romantic-comedy (romcom) movies. Jake was recommending the movie ‘Goyo’ starring Paulo Avelino and is encouraging netizens to watch and support and said film.
In the said tweet, Jake posted the following: “#goyo is a treaure! As Filipinos its our obligations to watch the film! It’s our heritage our history more than rom coms we need to watch this film to learn. It’s our local Lincoln”

Some netizens commented that perhaps Jake was referring to ‘The House Of Us’ starring Kathyrn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla when he mentioned ‘romcoms’ movies.
The actor quickly explain his tweet and clarified that his tweet has nothing to do with the KathNiel movie. He apologized for his tweet:
“I would like to apologize for my tweet. I wasn’t pertaining to another film #thou aside from #goyo. It was wrong of me to compare genres but I wasn’t comparing both films because both films are great. Just happy to have variety in the cinema and we should support them all. My bad”
