UP Fighting Maroons advances to UAAP Men’s Basketball finals after 32 years

After more than three decades, the University of the Philippines’ men’s basketball team will be playing in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 81 finals against the Ateneo De Manila University.

The UP fighting Maroons won in their do or die game against the Adamson University with the score 89-87 at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, November 28.

The Fighting Maroons last played in the men’s basketball finals in 1986 when they also won the championship title.

The UP basketball team is set to play against the defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles in a best of three finals.

The Blue Eagles meanwhile won against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws in their semi-finals game on Sunday.
