Actress Aiko Melendez addressed Cong. Alfred Vargas in a Facebook post after he released an apology over the ‘error’ committed by his office for the ‘No Homework On Weekends Bill’.
According to the congressman, what took place was a “technical error” and that his office is currently taking actions to correct the said error.

Aiko, however, expressed her disappointment to Cong. Vargas and gave her sentiments over the issue.
She wrote alongside a photo of the congressman’s statement: “Nagkamali daw pala ang opisina ni Cong Vargas. My take on this oo walang perpekto sa mundo. Pero ang pagkakamali sa isang batas na nais mo ipasa para sa bayan ay hindi biro. At naawa ako na ang mga guro Naten na halos kakarampot na nga ang sweldo meron pa na multa na 50k.”
Aiko then shared her opposition to the penalties the teachers might face as mentioned in the bill, saying: “Ako po ay me kapatid na guro. Bagamat guro sya sa International School at medyo nakaka angat ang sweldo sa mga guro sa public schools, Hindi pa dn tama na sila ang magdusa at magmulta. Ngayon babawiin nagkamali ang opisina.”
“Cong Alfred sana sa susunod bago pumirma ng batas idouble check naman kasi buhay namen mga tax payers at mga ordinaryong mamayan ang maapektuhan. May this be the last bill na magkakamali ang opisina mo. #justsaying,” Aiko added.
