Actress Angel Locsin expressed her honest thoughts and sentiments as she addressed the mean comments from bashers about her weight gain.
In the podcast of ‘Over A Glass Or Two’ with Jessy and Jcas, Angel was featured for an interview. During the interview, Angel opened up on what she felt regarding the mean comments from body shamers. Angel said that she cannot control what other people think and say about her. Angel also expressed her love to herself.
“I cannot control how other people think… Hindi yun sukatan kung mababawasan ang pagmamahal ko sa sarili ko. Buti na lang mahal ko ang sarili ko at nirerespeto ko ang sarili ko, dahil ang katawan na ito ay maraming pinagdaanan. Maraming na-achieve din naman at marami pa akong maa-achieve. Kung wala ang katawang ito, wala si Angel Locsin. Wala ako dito. Wala akong kabuhayan. So, I am just really grateful…” Angel shared.
“Tanggap ko, I’m a work in progress. Alam ko naman ‘yun eh. Lahat naman tayo eh. Maganda ‘yun kasi there’s room for improvement. Tao lang din naman tayo, hindi naman tayo ‘yung mga nasa magazines na dini-dictate ng society sa atin na ‘yun ‘yung perfect, ‘yun ‘yung maganda,” Angel added.
Angel also shared on how she is dealing with her bashers.
“Hindi ako nagsalita kasi parang, anong sasabihin ko? ‘Yun ang opinion nila sa sarili ko eh. Totoo naman, mataba naman talaga ako. Pero hindi naman masusukat noon kung sino ako. Mabuti nang chubby kaysa ugly.” Angel said.
“Kung hindi kayo natutuwa sa sarili ko, well, I’m sorry to hear that. But natutuwa pa naman ako sa sarili ko and I know ang kaya kong ibigay sa table.” Angel added.
