Ate Gay extended his congratulations to his fellow comedians Boobay and Tekla over the high ratings of their Kapuso weekend program ‘The Boobay and Tekla Show’ versus Vice Ganda’s Kapamilya late night show ‘Gandang Gabi Vice’.
On Twitter, Ate Gay shared a photo of the ratings posted by GMA Network where Boobay and Tekla’s program garnered 4.4 rating while the Kapamilya comedian’s show gained 3.0.

Ate Gay later clarified his tweet in an Instagram post and wrote: “Anak ko si boobay at kasama ko si tekla sa klownz at zirkoh.. umabot sila ng isang taon kaya ko sila binati ..ang susunod kong bati ay nxtyear.. huwag po bigyan ng malisya..maraming salamat po love love love”
Prior to his tweet, Ate Gay earlier made it to the headlines after he aired his response over Vice Ganda’s remarks about his cancelled ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ performance on ‘It’s Showtime’.
Vice said in an episode of the noon time show while tlking to a TNT contestant who has a resemblance with Ate Gay: “Totoo ba na masama ang loob mo dahil hindi ka naisalang sa celebrity edition, Ate Gay? Kasi ang dami mo raw kasing chika sa Facebook. Hindi po kayo yun? Kahawig lang, oo.”
Ate Gay then posted on his Facebook account: “Hindi ko napanuod ang showtime kahapon pero marami nag pm sa akin na kaya di daw ako nakapagTNT dahil madami ako hanash sa Fb patama ito sa kamukha ko sa tnt..naghanash lang naman ako nung nalaman ko na ni ho ni ha wala ako sched after ng interview pictorial at band rehearsa ( tama ba yun at matino ba matatwag yan)l.. bago ako magpost nagpapaalam pa ako sa manager ko at sya kasi ang kausap ng showtime at hindi ako..”
“Sensya na po pero makapangyarihan kasi mga binibitawang salita sa telebisyon at eto lang ang sandata ko para maipagtanggol ko sarili ko.. last na ito bout showtime nagpapasalamat pa rin ako kasi namemention name ko… lab u all,” he concluded.
