Popular P-pop group BINI has taken legal action against an unidentified individual, filing a complaint for unjust vexation and violations of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
In a social media post, their lawyer, Atty. Joji Alonso, shared portions of the complaint which identified the eight members—Gwenth Apulli, Mariah Queen Arceta, Sheena Mae Catacutan, Mary Loi Yves Ricalde, Jhoanna Christine Robles, Stacey Aubrey Sevilleja, and Ma. Nicolette Vergara—as the official complainants.
The complaint arose after a vlogger allegedly manipulated a 25-minute video of the group tasting and rating Filipino delicacies. The edited two-minute clip, however, focused only on the members’ unfavorable reactions, painting them in a negative light.
“This distorted presentation subjected them to insults, harsh criticisms, and damaging accusations. Beyond misrepresenting the truth, it caused serious emotional and psychological harm to the members,” Atty. Alonso said.
