TV host Boy Abunda expressed his honest thoughts and opinions as he urged the public not to unfriend someone because differences on political views.
In a short video that he shared on Tiktok, Tito Boy said that it is not right to unfriend someone just because of having different political candidate whom they are supporting in the upcoming elections. Tito Boy also talked about the importance of friendship.
“Para sa akin, opinyon ko lamang ito, it is not right to unfriend someone simply because that someone is voting for a different candidate… Kasi that’s precisely what elections are all about. This is democracy, iba’t iba ang pinipili natin. Hindi ko maintindihan yung konsepto na dahil hindi pareho ang iboboto natin, dahil iba ang choice mo, i-unfriend kita. I don’t understand that.” Tito Boy said.
“Kasi matatapos ang eleksyon saan mapupunta ang ating pagkakaibigan? Some friendships have been built over the years. Alam ko mainit ang panahon, mainit ang eleksyong ito, may mga pinaninindigan tayo. Pero ‘wag din natin kalimutan na may mga relasyon; may mga pagiging magkaibigan na mahalaga.” Tito Boy added.
Tito Boy also urged the public to think carefully before unfriending anyone. Tito Boy also shared that it is hard to rebuild the relationship that was broken just because of having different political candidate.
“Dadaan ang eleksyon pero ang ating mga relasyon ay mananatili. So be cautious, be careful. Think about it really carefully. Value your friends as we value our candidates para mas masaya ang buhay. At tsaka, Let’s learn how to live with our differences… We can have different choices and remain very good friends.” Tito Boy said.
“So don’t unfriend anyone just because you have two different choices of candidates.” Tito Boy added.
