As reported by CNN Philippines, 20 protesters and other assistance were arrested for staging a rally without government permit. This enflames reactions on Twitter Philippines bombarded by various celebrities, reporters and influencers.
On her twitter account, the ‘Love thy Woman’ actress, Kim Chiu writes, “Ang hirap ng sitwasyon ng mga tao ngayon. Papasok na ang 3rd week of the community quarantine. Hindi dapat hulihin or bugbugin ang kailangan kausapin, they will not be doing those things kung nabibigyan sila ng tamang atensyon and support from the local government.”

Defending the protesters, Kim added, “Seeing this, sila ang padre de pamilya ng bahay nila. Sila ang incharge ng mag provide ng pagkain sa bahay nila. Paano na ang asawa at anak nila kung huhulihin pa sila. The local govt has to do something about this.”

Marvin Agustin, an actor and entrepreneur tweeted, “Tulungan hindi hulihin. Makinig at i-address ng tama at makatao ang hinain. Sino ba gusto lumabas kung may makakain sa kanilang bahay? Hindi lakas kundi puso ang kailangan sa panahon ngayon” mentioning the official page of QCGov and officialqcmayor to call for the official government’s attention.

These reactions were not just sources of negative comments but power of call for the local government officials to see justice especially in this disastrous times.
