Actress Chesca Garcia-Kramer opened up on what she felt after her three failed IVF (in vitro fertilization) procedure.
In an episode of ABS-CBN’s morning talk show titled ‘Magandang Buhay’ hosted by Regine Velasquez, Jolina Magdangal and Melai Cantiveros, Cheska expressed her honest thoughts and sentiments after the three failed attempts to get pregnant through IVF.
“I think for me more kasi ako yung nagke-carry, because in your mind actually when they put already the embryo, you are already pregnant basically, you’re just waiting for it to grow… I think it’s very hard for women who are doing IVF and expecting because you have a two weeks wait window. Duon sa two weeks na yun, you are hoping that your period will not come… my last one, I was really hoping, praying because I actually missed my period. But then when I did the pregnancy test, I was not pregnant…” Cheska shared.
“But I already know the gender of my baby, everything… It’s a very hard journey for anyone who was doing IVF simply because my wait period, pag nag fail siya, may invested emotions ka kasi…” Cheska added.
When asked if they will try again for the 4th time, Cheska shared, “that’s something I was praying, the last failed one, talagang sinabi ko, ‘Lord if you don’t want us to have a baby anymore, please remove the longing and the wanting of having a baby’. Because I really want to be obedient to the Lord cause sometimes things don’t go as planned. Because he has a good reason for it and I also want to be an obedient daughter and follower.”
Cheska admitted that she has still the longing to have a baby. However, she will be setting it aside for the meantime. According to Cheska, her family was also affected as they were also expecting. She also shared that it came to a point that her son Gavin didn’t want to hug her because he thought that he will going to be a big brother.
Cheska talked to Gavin as she told him that she also wanted to be pregnant and what happened is one way of the Lord is probably protecting her.
“Tapos hinug niya ako tapos sabi niya, ‘sorry mommy I was just really hoping to be a kuya’.” Cheska shared.
