Coco Martin Announces Batang Quiapo’s Final Episode

After three years of dominating the primetime airwaves, the journey of Hesus Nazareno “Tanggol” Montenegro is coming to its highly anticipated conclusion. Actor-director Coco Martin officially confirmed that the hit action-drama series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo will air its final episode on March 13, 2026.

The announcement, which was made through a sit-down interview with MJ Felipe and shared by Dreamscape Entertainment, marks the end of a television phenomenon that premiered on February 13, 2023. By the time it concludes, the series will have completed seven seasons and nearly 800 episodes.

According to Martin, the decision to end the show was a creative one rather than a result of network pressure. He explained that Tanggol’s character arc had reached a natural “glass ceiling,” particularly after the heavy emotional weight of the character losing his mayoral bid.

“Nung naramdaman ko na ‘yung character ni Tanggol, nagawa na niya ‘yung lahat ng elements… naramdaman kong parang hanggang dito na lang ‘yung takbo ng buhay ni Tanggol sa Quiapo,” Coco shared.

He admitted that the decision brought on significant anxiety, comparing the end of the show to losing a loved one after living as the character for three years.

Martin promised that the final three weeks, dubbed “Ang Huling Laban ni Tanggol” (Tanggol’s Last Fight), will be a historic cinematic event. He claimed the production spared no expense, putting even more effort into this conclusion than they did for the legendary seven-year run of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
