“But I’d like to let everyone know that I’m straight.” This is the reassurance made by singer Darren Espanto as the controversy about his real sexual orientation keeps surfacing. Darren made the statement during his online interview with with close friend and fellow Kapamilya star Kyle Echarri.
“I’ve addressed this so many, actually not so many times, but like a lot of people are like Oh, bakla yan kasi ever since The Voice Kids, when I started singing songs that are always for girls or like I have a high voice, in general, they always assume my sexual preference pretty much,” Darren said.
When asked how he’s dealing with bashers? Darren as a simple solution:
“I just don’t mind them. We’re always gonna run into people like that, especially bashers kasama ‘yan sa mundo ng showbiz and all that. So, I personally don’t mind them.” said Darren.
“I know na wala naman silang ibang mas magandang ginagawa sa buhay kesa sa akin. That’s pretty much it. Who cares about them?” added Darren.
