Actor Diego Loyzaga expressed his honest thoughts and opinions when he was asked on how hard it is for him to step out of the shadow of his famous parents, Cesar Montano and Teresa Loyzaga.
In a virtual media conference for his movie with actress AJ Raval titled “Death of a Girlfriend”, Diego expressed his admiration to his parents. According to Diego, he considered his father, Cesar as a ‘legend’.
“How hard it is for you to step out of the shadow of your famous parents?” One participant asked Diego.
“Hindi ko na nga siya ginagawan ng effort eh, na parang sadyain ko na makawala dun sa shadow ng parents ko. Kasi kahit na anong gawin ko, never naman yun mawawala eh. Legend na yun si erpat, ‘Jose Riza’, ‘Muro-Ami’… There is no way naman I can step out of his shadow.” Diego shared.
“And my mom naman, she is a really great actress and even better singer. So, I can’t outsing my mom. So parang yung saakin is more, I’m gonna do my own thing and you know, strive to be great in what I’m doing. And you know, if the day comes that I make a hit as big as the ones that my parents did, great… “
“Pero it’s not naman an effort talaga na parang, ‘oh I have to step out of my parents shadow’… I’m proud naman to be, you know, they are my parents. Proud ako na sila ang mga magulang ko. So, it’s really not an effort that I really have to make to step out to their shadow.” Diego added.
