The Commission on Elections (Comelec) disqualified and denied the certificate of candidacy (COC) of actor Edu Manzano for the upcoming May election. Manzano is vying a seat as the district representative of San Juan.
In a Twitter post by CNN Philippines, the issue of citizenship was cited as the cause for the disqualification:

Manzano has yet to issue a statement but he can still file a motion for reconsideration.
