Matti was known for directing indie films and blockbuster movies such as On the Job, Honor Thy Father, Seklusyon, BuyBust, and Kuwaresma. Some of his other directing credits include Ekis, Mano Po 2, Gagamboy, Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles and its sequel Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2. His recent movie, which was supposedly ‘Darna’ starred by Liza Soberano turned down as the director resigned and an accident hinders Soberano to continue filming.
