TV journalist Gretchen Ho expressed her opinion regarding a recent campaign of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) called ‘Hug A Tree’ campaign.
According to DENR, The said campaign is to inspire more Filipinos to take part in the country’s regreening efforts and to raise awareness on the benefits of trees to communities and the environment.
On Twitter, DENR tweeted the following:
“LOOK: Officials and personnel of the DENR Central Office joined the nationwide launch of the annual “Hug A Tree” campaign last Feb. 14”
Gretchen took notice of this and shared her thoughts about it:
“Not sure what good “tree hugging” brings to the environment.
But I would love to know DENR’s actions and voice on the Masungi Georeserve, Philippines being tagged as the #1 ocean plastic polluter, mining in Sibuyan island, etc++
Where is the DENR secretary?”
