Actress Heart Evangelista and her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, recently proved that behind the glamour lies a grit that few get to see.
According to talent manager and content creator Ogie Diaz, the mother-daughter duo came face-to-face with an intruder in Heart’s Paris apartment. An incident that left the fashion icon shaken but remarkably composed.
The incident occurred last month during Heart’s return for Paris Fashion Week 2026. While Heart is known for her meticulous attention to detail, a simple security lapse—a door that wasn’t fully latched or locked—allowed a thief to enter the living space while they were inside.
Thanks to a quick-thinking companion who sounded the house alarm, the thief was startled and fled before they could do significant damage.
“So napasok sila. Eh, kasama niya nanay niya. Napasok sa kwarto. Naloka si fashionistang actress,” started Ogie.
“May presence of mind si fashionistang actress. ‘Yung mommy niya, nag-hysterical. Pinakalma niya by pressing her hand,” Ogie added.
“Buti na lang, nag-alarm ‘yung buong bahay. Sa taranta ng akyat-bahay, nabibit ang bag na may precious semi-stone. ‘Yun lang dala. May mga fancy accessories. Buti ‘yun lang daw nakuha.” Ogie shared.
“Yung bag ng Mommy, hindi nakita. Sobrang in shock si Mommy habang kalmado si actress. Buti na lang may kasama sila roon. Siguro ‘yung kasama ang nag-alarm. Buti na lang, ‘yun ang nakuha. Kasi ‘yung ibang gamit ni Heart, nasa bag ni Mommy.” Ogie said.
