TV host Iya Villania shared with her fans and followers the difficulties she is experiencing after not releasing breast milk for almost the entire day.
On her Instagram Story, Iya said:
“ME AFTER SPENDING A WHOLE DAY OUT WITH THE BIGGER KIDS (Primo, Leon at Alana) AND NOT EXPRESSING OR RELEASING MILK.
“I THOUGHT I’D BE OKAY COZ ASTRO (bunsong anak) ONLY FEEDS ABOUT 2X DURING THE DAY. IN OTHER WORDS, WASN’T ABLE TO RELEASE MILK FROM FROM 8AM-4PM.
“WHAT IS THIS? ENGORGEMENT OR MASTITIS?
“FEELING WEAK AND RIGHT BOOB FEELS FIRMER THAN USUAL AND WARM,”
The internet defines Engorgement happens when the breasts are overfull with milk and fluids. It is usually temporary and will lessen to adjust to your baby’s needs.
While mastitis is when the breast becomes swollen, hot and painful. It is most common in breastfeeding women.
