Singer Jake Zyrus aired his opinion about the current issue regarding trans people’s use of comfort rooms following trans woman Gretchen Diez’s alleged discrimination incident.
During his album launch, Jake who previously came out as a trans man spoke to ABS-CBN News and other members of the press after he was asked about the issue.

He said: “I used to think that way — pipilitin ko ‘yung sarili ko to go to the male’s restroom. But the more that I grow older, the more I realized na not everyone thinks the same.”
“Not everyone believes in the beliefs that you believe in so nagsi-CR ako sa kung saan ako dapat mag-CR. I simply follow the law. I respect the law,” Jake added.
Last August, Diez made it to the headlines after she was allegedly asked to use the male comfort room and was supposedly dragged by a janitress to the security area after she started taking a live video.
Several celebrities expressed their opinion over the issue and expressed their support to Diez. It however sparked debate online as concerns about safe spaces have been addressed.
