Jennylyn Mercado encourages netizens to share their inspiration for a better future

The community quarantine has been difficult for Filipinos across all walks of life. At best, it is boring and unstimulating; at worst, it can cut off low-income families from their daily source of income, which they need to put food on the table.

So far, the nation’s response to the pandemic has been consistent and motivating. Institutions, organisations, and even ordinary citizens have been working together with the government to provide much-needed funds, equipment, and relief goods.

Beyond the tangible, netizens have also taken to the internet to tell jokes and share their own ways of fighting the coronavirus.

Jennylyn Mercado recently joined the conversation on COVID-19 by posting a picture of her son. She explains how Jazz has been instrumental in keeping her hopeful in the middle of the panic caused by the outbreak.

“Sa panahon po ngayon na lahat ay walang kasiguraduhan. Na lahat tayo ay kinakabahan at natatakot. Kada araw ay maghanap tayo ng bagay that we are thankful for na magbibigay inspirasyon sa atin na malagpasan ang crisis na eto.”

(During times like these when nothing is certain. When we are all anxious and afraid. Everyday we look for things that we are thankful for to give us inspiration to overcome this crisis.)

“Saakin po ang anak ko. I am thankful to be his mom. Jazz is my greatest blessing.”

(For me, this is my child.)

Jennylyn ended the post with an invitation for fellow users to share their sources of inspiration in the comment section.
