Actress Jennylyn Mercado expressed her sentiments over how people who love to comment about others physical looks. For Jennylyn, it is not right for people to greet others like “uy tumaba ka.”
On Twitter, Jennylyn tweeted her feelings:
“Can we discontinue this toxic Filipino trait na tuwing nagkikita ang hilig mag komento tungkol sa physical looks ng iba tulad ng – “uy tumaba ka”
It’s not okay. First of all it’s rude, second it may trigger some people na may Ed. Maling mali.”

Furthermore, Jennylyn felt that physical appearance is totally irrelevant to a person’s true character:
“It should stop. Physical appearance has nothing to do with the quality of the person… Haaay. Senxa na bessies. Naiisip ko lang eto . Lalo na pag nababasa ko tweets ninyo… 🙁
May mas malalim pa na usapan dito tungkol sa pagequate ng worth ng tao sa kanilang physical appearance…”

Jennylyn said a “kamusta ka na?” or “i’m so happy to see you” statement would be enough:
“Pero hindi lahat ng tao tulad mo. Some people have their struggles. hindi ba mas maganda na wag nilang magcomment unless tinanong?
Why not say “kamusta ka na?” O “i’m so happy to see you” Smiling face”
