Comedian Jo Koy offered an explanation to his much publicized joke on pop star Taylor Swift during the 81st Golden Globe Awards where Jo Koy acted as the host.
Jo Koy was criticized heavily on his remarks about NFL and Taylor Swift:
““The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift,”
In his “Good Morning America” interview, Jo Koy said
“The Taylor one was just a little flat and you know, it was a weird joke, I guess, but it was more on the NFL. You know what I mean?” Jo Koy said.
“I was trying to make fun of the NFL using cutaways and how the Globes didn’t have to do that. And so it was more of a jab towards the NFL but it just didn’t come out that way,” explained Jo Koy.
It’s a tough room and it was a hard job. I’m not gonna lie. Getting that gig and then having the amount of time that we had to prepare was a crash course,” said Jo Koy.
“I am a stand-up comic, but that hosting, it’s a different style. You know, it’s not the same style/ I feel bad, but hey, I gotta still say that I loved what I did.” Jo Koy added.
