Entertainment columnist and producer Jobert Sucaldito has been drawing flak on social media after his alleged statement following reports about the rumored break up of Nadine Lustre and James Reid.
In an episode of his radio program with Ahwel Paz, Jobert gave his statement about the rumored break up of the celebrity couple and made a remark about Nadine’s cryptic Instagram posts.

Jobert said: “May gusto akong buweltahan, e. Yung mga fans niya, mga JaDine fans na nagagalit sa media. Sinisisi ang media for proliferating the fake news about hiwalayan issue. Ibabalik namin sa inyo ang tanong, sino ba nagpa-una nito? Malay naman namin na may problema yung dalawang ito kundi sa mga post nila.”
Jobert then added: “Di ba yun naman ang gusto nila? May mga nakalagay na mga caption na parang gustong tumalon, sana tumalon nalang kung ganun nalang din pala.”
Fans and netizens expressed their dismay over Jobert’s remark as the hashtag #SuicideIsNotAJokeJobert became trending on Twitter.
Blogger and journalist Julian Mauricio tweeted: “I’ll always be grateful to Nay Jobert for his kindness towards my family. But speaking as someone who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder and who actually attempted to jump off a 13-storey building in 2015, I was hurt by what he said. #SuicideIsNotAJokeJobert”

Jobert released a statement on his Facebook account following the issue and wrote: “Ang pinaka-KASALANAN lang namin ay pinatulan namin kayo thinking na totoo ngang may problema sa relasyon ninyo. Iyon pala, YOU JUST TOOK US FOR A RIDE! Congratulations then! Nagtagumpay kayo sa first phase ng drama ninyo pero do you think that the public will support you after this? NILOKO NIYO LANG KAMI! Iyon na iyon. Sayang ang pagmamahal namin sa iyo Nadine – you USED us. Sayang. Sayang talaga. We’re so hurt and insulted.”
