The recent decision of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines to grant TAPE Inc. certification of renewal of registration for “Eat Bulaga” trademark has sparked a new line of discussion as to who is the rightful owner of the name ‘Eat Bulaga.’
The trademark registration was renewed by TAPE Inc. on June 14, 2023, and is effective until June 14, 2033.

The said name is being contested by TAPE Inc. and Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon.
On Instagram, Joey seemed to react on the recent development by posting the following:
