Actress Julia Barretto reacted to the numerous comments by netizens that actor Aga Muhlach is tool old for her. “Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko” is a project starred by Julia and Aga.
Aga plays the role of Michael, a conductor and an arranger while Julia plays the role of Jas, a choir student. Aga is currently 54 years old while Julia is 26 years old in real life.
Some netizens felt the age gap is just too big. Some are even asking if the movie is trying to promote Dirty Old Men (DOM).
“We’re not trying to normalize anything,” said Julia.
“We’re not trying to advocate anything. We’re storytellers. Again, we wouldn’t have jumped into this production if we knew this would send the wrong message in any way,” Julia added.
