A controversial statement from Karen Davila has left netizens questioning the transparency and authenticity of the government’s efforts to combat the coronavirus outbreak.
“While it is inspiring to see the spirit of Bayanihan among our kababayans, we are mostly seeing fund raising efforts & private donations for PPEs, masks, alcohols etc… would like to see the P276 BILLION unleashed by the government in full force.” her first tweet reveals.

Her second tweet places emphasis on the enormity as well as the urgency of the funds.

Karen’s second tweet is quoted alongside a picture that says, “Kung wala kayong PPE na mabigay samin, pwede kabaong na lang??? Maka save pamilya namin.”
This quote is alleged to have been made by the director of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital in Bacolod, Julius Drilon.
