Former Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan reacted to a recent statement released by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) that Filipinos who spend P64 a day for their meals are not considered ‘food poor.’
Various sectors reacted to the said statement and demanded an explanation as to how the figure was arrived.
Even Sen. Kiko reacted and posted a video and on a separate post stated that:
“So for NEDA, 3 meals at a total cost of ₱64 pesos meets the munimum daily energy and micronutrient requirements of a citizen. ₱21 pesos a meal talaga? Tanggap talaga nyo yung sinasabi nyo dito?
Sa NEDA, talaga bang ganyan ka baba ang tingin ninyo sa pangangailangan sa pagkain ng kapwa nyo Pilipino? Okay lang kayo?”
