In another post, Kris thanked the people who have expressed their support to her and remembered what her parents Cory Aquino and Ninoy Aquino who had the same dream as hers.
She wrote: “if i may share, my mom was protective & unsure that my career path would give me a happy & stable home life; she was correct about her fears- it’s very hard for love to survive when your partner’s chosen profession gives everybody the right to judge & scrutinize what should be your private life… But my dad- he encouraged my dreams, and every time we’d watch a movie together in Boston, or he’d indulge me & watch Dear Heart of Sharon & Gabby w/ me- he’d always say “Beautiful, 1 day ikaw na yung papanuurin natin.” I was 12 years old when he was assassinated so he never saw his baby fulfill her dreams… and as much as i got to feel how supportive & proud my Mom was, it was NINOY AQUINO, my Dad, who believed that this was part of my destiny…To the first & only man who loved me for simply being me, and the first & only man who never doubted me- please know i remain STRONG because i had the privilege of seeing & feeling that you believed in me because you saw so much of you was in me. ?”
Kris graced the Hollywood premiere of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ and walked on the green carpet last August 9.
The film is set to premiere in the country on August 22.
