Lara Quigaman shares being rushed to hospital due to chest pain

Former beauty queen and actress Lara Quigaman recently shared that she was rushed to the hospital after experiencing chest pain, a moment that quickly shifted her focus from everyday routines to something far more urgent: her health.

She described the pain as alarming enough to seek immediate medical attention, a decision that may have felt sudden but proved necessary. Within moments, what began as discomfort turned into an emergency, underscoring how easily warning signs can be overlooked until they demand to be taken seriously.

On her Facebook, Lara posted the following:

“Happy Heart Month!

Last November, Marco had to call 911 as I was having severe chest pain, unlike I’ve ever felt before. I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, and since then I’ve had a series of tests to find out what’s happening with my heart. Even though doctors ruled out that the pain wasn’t cardiac-related, they want to be cautious and make sure it’s working properly.

Today, a few more tests were done to make sure there are no blockages. I had to be at the hospital for more than four hours, but those hours also meant having the time to reflect and pray.

Sometimes I feel anxious, waiting for results and especially when I feel pain in my chest area or when I feel short of breath. But I am grateful for this season. God is teaching me to trust and be still before Him and to give Him my heart—literally.

If you are going through something similar, if you feel fear or uncertainty, may this be a reminder to be still and know that God is God and to give your heart to Jesus too. He loves you, He will always be faithful, and He is in control.

The happiest heart is the one resting in God’s hands.”

While details of her condition were kept private, Lara’s willingness to share the experience resonated with many. Chest pain is often dismissed as stress, exhaustion, or something that can wait until later. Her story quietly challenges that mindset. Sometimes “later” isn’t an option.
