Actress and TV host Maine Mendoza defended her husband congressman Arjo Atayde after the Discaya’s named Arjo as allegedly benefitting from the flood control projects.
In a statement she posted on X (formerly Twitter), Maine said the accusations are baseless and unfair. She made an appeal to the public to refrain from throwing hate and personal attacks on Arjo and their family.

“Teka lang muna, those are baseless allegations. Please refrain from throwing hate and personal attacks at him, including me and our family until facts come out.
I am with my husband in this. Wala siyang ginagawang masama sa loob. He has been doing his best to serve the people of his district in Quezon City since the beginning.
I sincerely hope and pray that the people who are TRULY responsible will be held accountable and that innocent individuals be spared from this mess. Napaka unfair.”
