Actress Maja Salvador is one of the female celebrities being tapped by netizens to portray the role of “Darna” after Liza Soberano announced her exit from the project.
In her interview with Push and other members of the press, Maja expressed her appreciation to fans rooting for her to portray the Pinay superheroine but did not directly confirm if she is ready to accept the role.

She said: “Ang pressure po kasi, ang laking pressure. Lalo na from Angel Locsin, tapos na-announced na na si Liza (Soberano). Nakakatuwa lang na ang daming may gusto, pero hindi ko kayang sagutin, kung tatangapin ko, kasi parang ang hirap po magsalita, dahil andon ako sa ang hirap sundan. Iba si Lily Cruz (laughs).”
Maja also showed respect to Liza whom she thinks is still hurting after announcing her exit.
“Parang ayaw ko sabayan ‘yung ingay noon, doon sa pag widthraw niya as a Darna. Kasi love ko yun e (Liza Soberano), respeto ko sa kanya. I’m sure masakit sa kanya, alam kong masakit sa kanya at alam kong gustung-gusto niya na gampanan ang Darna para sa mga fans niya na maraming naghihintay,” said Maja.
