Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chairperson Lala Sotto denied what most netizens are accusing the agency after it released its decision to suspend the program “It’s Showtime.”
The decision to suspend the show was made in response to the complaints filed by viewers over the show’s July 25, 2023 episode, in relation its hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez acting indecently in the segment “Isip Bata.”

In her interview with Nelson Canlas for the news program “24 Oras,” Lala denied allegations that they are targeting “It’s Showtime” just because it is a direct competitor of the program “E.A.T.” where Lala’s father former senator Tito Sotto is a host.
“No, that is not true.” said Lala.
“Siguro, natural lang naman sa mga supporters ang maging ganun ang pakiramdam kasi, siguro, naririnig nila na parating nari-report.” Lala added.
“But hindi po kasalanan ng MTRCB ang violations na ginagawa nila.” Lala said.
