VP Leni Robredo greeted actress Kim Chiu on her birthday. Kim was so moved that she was in tears and thanked Robredo for her wishes.
Kim also expressed her full support to Robredo’s presidential bid and even said: “KASAMA NYO PO AKO SA LABAN NA ITO. LABAN PARA SA ISANG GOBYERNONG TAPAT, ANGAT BUHAY ANG LAHAT.”
But the part where Robredo said ““Kim, happy, happy birthday. Magkasunod pala birthday natin. But I want to wish you a very happy birthday. I know you’re in a good place now.” caught the attention of most netizens.
Some interpreted this statement as ‘someone already had passed away,’ in this case Kim. The said remark went viral.
Netizens corrected some critics by explaining that “You are in a good place” is an idiomatic expression that means someone is confident. Being in a good place means one’s mental state is at peace. In total contrast to “You are in a better place” which means someone already passed.
