Former four-division champion Nonito Donaire Jr. had to cancel his Dec. 19 bout against Emmanuel Rodriguez for the vacant WBC bantamweight championship after being tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, this according to a report in BoxingScene.com.
This was the second incident for Donaire that his boxing fight was cancelled due to the coronavirus. The first one was his fight with WBCs champion in recess Nordine Oubaali who also had to withdraw because he was tested positive for COVID-19.
