Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced that he is in isolation and under quarantine after his personal driver Kuya Vener who was tested positive for COVID-19 passed away last week.
Vico said he had close contact on March 10 with his driver before Kuya Vener was brought to the hospital. His driver passed away after testing positive for COVID-19.
“Hindi muna ako makakapasok sa trabaho at kina-cancel ko muna ang mga appointment at meeting. Kung maaari ay via Viber at Zoom muna,” Sotto said on his Facebook page.
On his Twitter account, Mayor Vico said he will be in quarantine until March 24. Here is his tweet:
“Last Saturday, we lost a good friend, Kuya Vener, to covid.
Following DOH protocol, I’ll be in quarantine until March 24 (2wks fr when he last drove for me). Will continue working via zoom & phone.
Thank you for your kind messages. Pls pray, especially for his family.”
