Basketball player Calvin Abueva was fined and was suspended infefinitely by the Philippine Basketball Association for his conduct on the playing court. Abueva got involved in a verbal altercation and for making obsence gestures with a fan and also got involved in an unsportsmanlike conduct with import Terrence Jones.
In an article published by PBA.ph, PBA commissioner Willie Marcial slapped a P70,000.00 fine and an indefinite suspension preventing Abueva from playing.
Commissioner Marcial added that he had to impose the penalty of indefinite suspension to instill discipline and maintain professionalism in the league. He said that he can no longer allow Abueva to continue with his offensive and obnoxious on-court behavior against the fans and his fellow players, which the fiery player is known for.
