Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach defended Bb. Pilipinas contestant and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Vickie Rushton from failing to bag a Binibining Pilipinas crown. Vickie was able to get six special awards and netizens blamed her performance in the question and answer portion for not being able to get a title.
Vickie was the early favorite prior to Q&A portion.

Actor Daniel Padilla asked Vickie the following question: “Why is mental health as important as physical health?”
To which Vickie answered: “Mental health is as important as physical health, because of our inner being. Having self-love is important. As a woman, I can inspire and empower the people to take care of themselves, to take care of their mind as well as their health. They will be as effective.”
Pia posted on her Instagram Stories the following in defense of Vicki:
“My heart also breaks for Vickie. I hope she can try again. I believe this girl is smart. Nerves can happen to even the best of us. It’s not easy to compete. Keep your chin up, Vickie,” Pia wrote on her Instagram story.
