Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte apologized to actress Kris Aquino over a report published by Belmonte’s family-owned paper. Kris in a post expressed her disappointment over the article and said the story should be more subtle.
On her Facebook account, the vice-mayor posted a message apologizing to Kris for the said article:

“A friend sent me this Tweet from Kris Aquino and she is obviously referring to my family and me being insecure of her. I apologise profusely to Kris for whatever it is that offended her. Am still trying to find the article she is referring to because I haven’t read it, and I’m sorry too that she thinks I have something to do with it, or that whatever squabble she may have with the reporter that wrote the offending article has something to do with me. For the record, I do not know what she is talking about but I apologise for any offence taken by her. And i still remain eternally grateful to her for having endorsed me in a video which i posted months ago; and even if she is angry with me for whatever reason, i hope she remembers that my mother and hers were best friends and that my mother started the Philippine Star to support hers in 1986. I pray no issue will get in the way of the years of friendship our families shared. And i remain happy for all the success the Lord has blessed her with.”
