After their controversial confrontation on live television almost two decades back, Asia’s songbird Regine Velasquez revealed that she and Gelli De Belen are now good friends.
During her interview in “Tonight With Boy Abunda”, Regine looked back at her past romantic involvement with Ariel Rivera and commended Gelli for being a ‘wonderful wife” to the latter.

Regine said: “You know, we were all very young and it wasn’t supposed to happen. Hindi siya talaga nakatakda.”
“And you know I have to tell you, Gelli is a good friend now. And she is a wonderful wife, a fantastic mother and I am so happy that I was given a chance to actually know her,” she added.
Regine shared that when she and Ogie Alcasid got married, she got to know Gelli who was a good friend of her husband.
