Former Quezon City councilor and actor Roderick Paulate was found guilty of graft and falsification of public documents by the Sandiganbayan.
In an article written by Llanesca T. Panti published in GMA News Online, Roderick was sentenced to at least 10 years minimum in jail over the hiring of fictitious employees when she was still a Q.C councilor way back year 2010.
The court also shared in a 130-page decision that was dated November 25 that Roderick recommended the hiring of 30 individuals under job contracts who received wages from July to December 2010 even if their Personal Data Records were riddled with irregularities.
“Given the above findings and in addition to the other pieces of evidence presented, the prosecution has well established that the entries in the Personal Data Sheet (PDS) of the job contractors were indeed falsified. The defense did not give any logical explanation for the glaring inaccuracies of the entries in the PDS or adduce any evidence to show the truth thereof.” the anti-graft court shared.
