Folk singer Coritha passed away last Friday September 27, 2024 at the age of 73. “Socorro Avelino” in real life popularized the songs “Oras Na”, “Sierra Madre” and “Lolo Jose”.
In an interview with broadcaster Julius Babao, Coritha’s partner Chito Santos said Coritha fought till the end, but he can no longer bear seeing Coritha having a hard time.
In a previous interview, Chito said Coritha suffered a stroke and became bedridden.
“Ilang araw naming binabantayan hanggang sa humina na siya nang humina. Ayoko namang magtagal pa dahil nga lalo lang siyang nahihirapan,” said Chito.
