Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Slater Young slammed a netizen who criticized him over his remark about Filipino resilience.
Twitter account user @theigorotkid posted a photo which contained tweets of Slater and singer Frankie Pangilinan about resilience. The account user captioned, “I wonder when was the last time @thatguySLATER & @kakiewrites @kakiep83 had to be resilient to survive? I guess they never did bcoz they’ve been born with all the privilege & opportunity in life so they can always bail out when it gets tough.”

The said tweet captured the attention of Slater. He clarified that he was not born into privilege as he retweeted the post as he captioned “Resilience is admirable in the right context, but not when it is used as an excuse to praise suffering. Palakpakan kita pag nawalan ka ng trabaho? Sadista diba? My status in life does not preclude me from empathizing. FYI, i wasnt born into privilege. Get your facts straight.”
