Actress Sunshine Dizon expressed her thoughts and opinions about legalizing divorce in the Philippines. Sunshine who is playing the role of a single mother in the teleserye “Marry Me, Marry You” is herself separated from her non-showbiz husband Timothy Tan.
In an article published by Push, Sunshine said she is in favor of divorce so that people can be given a chance to start anew.
“Napaka plastic ko naman kung sasabihin kong marriage is forever kasi hindi naman totoo. For me, I’m speaking for myself ano. Gusto ko yung divorce kasi it’s normal for people to fall out of love.” said Sunshine.
“That is part of life so bakit natin hindi bibigyan ng pagkakataon yung mga tao na gusto mag start anew? Kailangan ba talagang meron psychological reason or something drastic na dahilan para alng maghiwalay yung dalawang tao?” Sunshine added.
Minsan talagang hindi na talaga sila para sa isa’t isa so I hope the laws will push through regarding divorce here in the Philippines so that magkaroon naman ng freedom naman yung mga tao para magmahal ulit, magsimula ulit. So that’s my take on it,” Sunshine explained.
