Tito Sotto: “We were hurt, surprised and disappointed”

Former senate president and TV host Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III revealed that his brother Vic Sotto and good friend Joey De Leon were not happy with the statement made by the management of TAPE Inc.

Sotto said Vic and Joey were irked by the remarks that without Eat Bulaga, there would be to TVJ (short for Tito, Vic, and Joey).

In an interview with entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin, Sotto vehemently denied any truth behind that statement.

“Sa sinabing hindi mabubuhay ang TVJ pag wala ang Eat Bulaga. Naku, si Vic at si Joey kagabi nung pinag-uusapan namin Yun, galit na galit doon sa salita na yan.” said Sotto.

“Remember, 1979. Kami ang nag-create ah. But, 1976 Discorama na kami. TVJ na kami. Baka hindi pa sila pinanganganak kaya hindi nila alam. 1978, Iskul Bukol number one primetime show. For 10 years, channel 13.” Sotto added.

Sotto reiterated that TVJ owns the program Eat Bulaga while the Jalosjos are the owners of TAPE.

“Pag tiningnan mo ‘yung ika nga ay records or dadalhin mo sa korte ‘yung usapan, nakatitiyak ako na kami ang may-ari. Ganun ang copyright, with or without a copyright, ganun ganun ang kalakaran sa mundo. Kung sino nag-imbento, sa kanya yun” Sotto said.
