Actress and TV host Toni Gonzaga expressed her love and support to her sister, actress and vlogger Alex Gonzaga as she shared that she will never be insecure with her success.
In an interview with social media personality and vlogger Wil Dasovich, Toni expressed her honest thoughts and sentiments when she was asked if she sometimes felt insecurity with her sister, Alex over her success. Toni admitted that she get insecure with other celebrities but not with Alex.
“I’m curious, was there any sort of, whether it’s conscious or subconscious, insecurity within yourself where you started to feel like, ‘oh my gosh I need to step it up’ or maybe there’s pressure on you, or maybe there was this feeling that your career is on the decline just because the person closest to you is now rising higher than ever.” Will asked Toni.
“Oh I love it. I love it that she was, she used me as a stepping stone because I would only do that for my sister. ‘you can use me as a stepping stones, sige go and jump start your career.’ I’m okay with that. I will only do that for my sister. I get insecure with other artistas, my colleagues but I am never insecure with my sister.” Toni shared.
“Because we grew up thinking that what you have is mine and what I have is yours. We only share kasi before… yung talent fee ko before, alam niya yun. Kung 3,000 yun, 1,500 sakaniya, 1,500 saakin. Kahit wala siyang ginawa, ah may ginawa pala siya, she waited outside. She was waiting outside.” Toni added.
Toni later on shared what their parents, specially their father, have thought them while they were growing up.
“My parents always tell us na, if there’s one person na hindi mo dapat magiging kaaway sa mundo, that is your sibling, that is your sister. Okay lang na kaaway mo silang lahat, wag lang ang kapatid mo. Yun lang. lage niyang sinasabe saamin yun. Yung parents ko.” Toni shared.
