Vice President Leni Robredo called out Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) deputy executive director Mocha Uson over her alleged false social media post about the former’s efforts on extending help to the victims of Taal eruption.
On Twitter, the vice president shared a screenshot of Mocha’s Facebook post about claims that Robredo spent more money on media coverage that the actual relief goods for the evacuees.

VP Robredo tweeted: “While our people are suffering from an unfortunate tragedy, this bearer of fake news continues to receive salary out of taxpayers’ money.
Let’s all help put a stop to the proliferation of lies.”
VP Robredo also expressed her dismay over the ‘fake news’ circulating online as she said while speaking with the press: “Parang insulto naman ‘to sa dami ng taong nag-donate sa amin. In fact, noong lunes nang gabi, nag-tawag kami ng volunteers, in less than an hour ang daming dumating sa opisinang volunteers at yung mga volunteers yung makakasabi kung ano yung laman nung relief packs.”
“Ako, parang masyado namang petty na pag-awayan pa namin yung laman, pero yung pinaka punto ko, bakit hinahayaan natin na yung nagpapakalat ng fake news sinuswelduhan pa ng pamahalaan,” VP Robredo added.
