Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio attended President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) wearing a traditional Bagobo Tagabawa dress.
The Bagobo Tagabawa tribe of Davao is one of the largest groups of indigenous peoples in Southern Mindanao.
“Vice President Sara Duterte will depart from the traditional Filipiñana and honor her kababayans from the Bagobo Tagabawa tribe of Davao City,” said Duterte’s spokesman Atty. Reynold Munsayac.
