According to a digital news posted by the Philippine Star on Twitter, The Commission on Higher Education “allows colleges and universities using the old calendar until April 30 meanwhile, those using the new academic calendar are allowed to extend the current semester for a maximum of one month”
It also states that extension for the current semester will be allowed after the enhanced community quarantine considering it would be limited to one month, especially for public and private sectors using the new academic calendar (August-July).

However, summer or midyear classes will be graced only for students with scheduled summer subjects, graduate students and most especially for graduating students complying with their requirements.
CHED Chairman J. Prospero “Popoy” de Vera clarifies the issue regarding mass promotion of students by addressing that universities and colleges has their right to give their own decision in this matter and that situations differ upon the institution’s policies and verdict.
