One netizen shared on his Facebook account a photo of a student workbook that uses ‘obscene’ words as choices for a multiple choice question. Netizens were surprised to see the workbook and started asking how and if the Department of Education approved such a material.
The netizen said that her 16 year old sister who’s enrolled in a private catholic school sent him the modile that uses dirty names as part of the choices.
“So my sister (who is a minor) sent me some situational questions from her module and I saw this. Seriously? Dirty names in the choices? 🙄 DepEd Philippines
PS. My sister is just 16 and she’s enrolled in a Private Catholic School. PPS. I’m not blaming DepEd for this. I only mentioned the page to raise awareness about the content with double meaning.”
The Department of Education issued a formal statement saying that the module was not created by the department:
“We would like to clarify that a certain viral photo of a module page with provocative terms was not created by the Department of Education. Based on our investigation, a private Catholic school in Zambales produced the module.”
